Novotel Phuket Resort is in Patong, Phuket's best-known beach town on the Andaman Sea coast. The hotel stands on Pharabamee Road in Kathu, the district that includes Patong, and Patong Beach is about 150 m away. The streets around the beach are lively, with restaurants, bars and shops along the beach road and the lanes behind it, so there is plenty to do on foot in the evening.

Bangla Road, the nightlife street with bars, clubs and street stalls, is 1.6 km from the hotel, and Jungceylon Shopping Center is nearby. Karon and Kata beaches lie further south along the coast, and the hilltop Big Buddha is about 9.1 km away. Phuket International Airport is 22.6 km from the hotel.

A simple day can start with a swim at Patong Beach and continue to Kata or Karon, two beaches further south. Kata and Karon are reached by road along the coast, and the Big Buddha can be visited on the same day. In the evening, Bangla Road is the place for bars and street food, and the hotel's pool and spa make a quieter end to the day. Patong Beach is the closest of the beaches to the hotel, so it is the easiest place to start the day.
