Chaithararam Temple, better known as Wat Chalong, is 7.8 km away, and the Big Buddha stands on a hilltop 11.2 km away. Because the beaches and the larger temples are several kilometres off, a taxi or hire car is the simplest way to reach them, while the town centre can be explored on foot.

A good day starts with a walk through the shophouses of Phuket Old Town and along Thalang Road, followed by the Peranakan Museum and a stop at the hilltop temple of Wat Khao Rang for the view over the town.
