New Heaven Dive School and Resort

Every room has air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi is available in all of them. Private bathrooms come with every room except the mixed dormitory, which shares its bathroom. Room sizes run from 16 to 36 m², and the rooms sleep from one to four guests. Sea views and mountain views both feature across the rooms, and one room comes with a private pool. Beds are queen, double or single, depending on the room.

Several rooms have a balcony or terrace with outdoor furniture, and a number of them include private beach access. Two standard rooms have no hot water supply in the shower and are reached by a short walk up stairs. A mixed dormitory bed is also available for solo travellers.

The outdoor swimming pool sits alongside a restaurant, a bar and a coffee shop, and alternative meal arrangements can be made. Non-smoking rooms are available, and there is a terrace and luggage storage on site. Air conditioning is also in the public areas, so the common spaces stay cool during the day.

Water activities include diving, snorkelling and non-motorised water sports, and there is a yoga room for land-based practice. Tours can be arranged, and the resort's diving and snorkelling sessions make the sea the centre of a stay here.

Internet services are available, with WiFi in the public areas as well as free Wi-Fi in all rooms. English and Thai are spoken at the property.

The resort is in Chalok Baan Kao, a bay on Ko Tao in the Gulf of Thailand, an island known for its dive sites and clear water. Many visitors come to Ko Tao to learn to dive or to snorkel, and that shows in the resort's dive school and its water-focused facilities. A pharmacy and a clinic are close by, so the basics are close to the resort.

The John-Suwan Mountain Viewpoint, 750 m away, looks out over Chalok and Thian bays, and it is one of the simplest excursions from the resort. The nearest beach is about 470 m away, and Sairee Beach, with its dive shops and bars, is 2.6 km away. Samui Airport is 63.2 km away, so the final leg of the journey to Ko Tao is by ferry, and the sea decides how smoothly the crossing goes.

Days here revolve around the water, with diving and snorkelling from the resort, and a yoga session or a boat trip to the islet of Koh Nang Yuan. Sairee Beach makes a good evening outing for a drink and a meal. When the sea is rough, boat trips can be disrupted, so sea conditions matter for day trips.
