Further afield, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is a large weekend market in the north of the city.

A good day could begin early at the Grand Palace, 6.8 km away, the royal complex on the Chao Phraya riverbank, then cross to Wat Arun, the temple with a tall spire on the same river. In the evening, Asiatique - The Riverfront is a riverside shopping and dining complex on the Chao Phraya, with Wat Arun on the opposite bank of the river. Don Mueang International Airport, 20.3 km away, is the nearest airport, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is the other main option.
