Karon Beach is the closest beach to Nan Inn Bungalow, at 350 m, and Kata Beach, the next bay along the same coast, is the other sandy stretch nearby. The beach is a good place for swimming, sunbathing and water sports.

Phuket Big Buddha, a large white statue on Nakkerd Hills, is also nearby, and Chaithararam Temple, better known as Wat Chalong, is one of the most important temples on the island, about 4.5 km away. Karon Night Market is close by, and Patong, with the nightlife of Bangla Road, lies further along the coast. Phuket International Airport is 30.9 km away.

A good day could begin with a swim at Karon Beach, continue with a visit to the statue at Big Buddha and the temple at Wat Chalong, and end with dinner and the stalls of Karon Night Market. Because the bungalow sits only a short distance from the sand, an afternoon on the beach fits easily between the sights, and the streets behind the bay are the best place to find local eateries and the small shops that make up the village.
