MT Friend Home & Hostel

MT Friend Home & Hostel combines standard rooms with mixed dormitories, so guests can choose between a room of their own and a bunk bed. The standard rooms include the Standard Double Room, which measures 13 m² and has a queen bed and a private bathroom, the Standard Twin Room, which measures 13 m², and the Triple Room, which measures 22 m² and has a choice of bed set-ups. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

The mixed dormitories have bunk beds and a shared bathroom with a shower and toiletries, and several rooms have city views. Depending on the room, guests can find air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a refrigerator, a kettle and a desk.

Guests can use a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, daily housekeeping and a laundry service. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and in the public areas, and bottled water is available at the hotel.

A baby cot can be requested directly from the property, subject to availability, and an extra bed carries an additional charge. Children aged 1 to 5 can stay for free when they use existing bedding.

The rooms also provide linens, toiletries and a hair dryer, and free bottled water and instant coffee are offered in some of them.

MT Friend Home & Hostel sits in Phuket Town, the island's provincial capital, where the old town is known for its Sino-Portuguese shophouses and small museums. The area has an urban character and suits guests who want to explore on foot before heading out to the beaches. In the evening, the streets away from the beach strips feel calmer, and the shrines and shophouses of the old town are easy to walk between.

The Phuket Trickeye Museum, with its painted three-dimensional scenes, is 100 m from the hotel, and the Phuket Philatelic Museum is close by. Lard Yai Sunday Night Market, a short walk away, brings street food and local crafts to the old town on Sunday evenings. For getting around the island, the Phuket Town Local Bus Station (Terminal 1) is 300 m away, and Chaithararam Temple, also known as Wat Chalong, is 7.4 km away.

Beach days are the obvious next step: Patong Beach, on the island's west coast, is 10.8 km away and has a busy seafront and the Bangla Road nightlife strip. Karon and Kata beaches lie further south along the same coast. Patong is the natural choice for a night out, while Chaithararam Temple and Big Buddha Phuket suit a daytime visit, and both are reached by road from Phuket Town.
