The Big Buddha, 14.2 km from the hotel, is a large white statue on a hilltop, and Wat Chalong, one of the most important Buddhist temples on the island, is a good stop on the same trip. A good day could start with a morning visit to the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong, then return to Kamala for a swim at the beach and the evening market.
