Further afield, Big Buddha Phuket sits on a hilltop 8.3 km away, with views over the island, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) is 6.9 km away. Patong Boxing Stadium, a Muay Thai venue, is also close by, and Phuket FantaSea, a large cultural show, is a little further away.

One day could start at Patong Beach, then continue by car or taxi to Chaithararam Temple, a popular Buddhist temple, and the Big Buddha in the hills. The island has a network of roads, so Karon and Kata beaches can be reached by taxi or car hire if you want a different beach for the day.
