It is reached by boat from the mainland, and the pace of life is slower than in Trang town, with small villages and beaches along the shore. The sea is the focus of the island, with the ferry terminal on Ko Muk linking it to the mainland.

Emerald Cave, a sea cave on the island, is 2.5 km away, and Trang Airport, 37.3 km away on the mainland, is the closest airport.
