Rawai is a fishing village in southern Phuket, with a working fish market and a sea gypsy community that gives the area a more local feel than the busy beach strips of Patong. The pace here is calmer, and the sea is close to the villa. Everyday life on the island is easy to see here, away from the crowds. The Rawai Pier ferry terminal is also nearby.

The villa is about 390 m from the beach, and Phuket International Airport is 37 km away. Phuket is joined to the mainland by a bridge, so the drive from the airport is by road, and there is an airport transfer. Close by are the Phuket Seashell Museum and the Rawai fish market, while Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is one of the most revered temples on the island and lies a little further off.

A good day could begin at the Rawai fish market, then continue to Big Buddha Phuket, a large seated Buddha statue on a hilltop 5.7 km away with wide views over the island. Chaithararam Temple can be added to the route, and back in Rawai, the beach is the simplest place to end the day, with the villa a short stroll from the sand.
