Moby Dick Guesthouse

Every room at Moby Dick Guesthouse has a private shower, a desk, a fan and wireless internet access. The rooms measure 25 to 34 m² and sleep from two to four guests, with single beds, a double bed or a combination of the two.

Air conditioning and a balcony or terrace come with some of the rooms, and one room has a city view. The bed setup depends on the room: four single beds for up to four guests, three single beds for three, one double bed for two, or two single beds with one double bed. Each room is set up for the number of guests it sleeps, so the choice depends on the size of your group.

The guesthouse offers a continental breakfast alongside a restaurant, a bar, a coffee shop and room service, and there is a shared kitchen for guests. Room service is available, and the shared kitchen gives guests a space to prepare their own food alongside the breakfast and the restaurant.

Daily housekeeping and laundry service are available, with luggage storage, lockers, safety deposit boxes and express check-in and check-out. Guests can use the shared lounge and TV area, billiards and a nightclub, and the public areas have Wi-Fi as well as the rooms. There is 24-hour security, and English, Finnish, German, Swedish and Thai are spoken, so guests can get help in several languages.

Moby Dick Guesthouse is in the Chaweng area of Koh Samui, one of the busiest beach districts on the island. Its long sandy coastline sits alongside a lively strip of restaurants, bars and shops, which keeps the evenings busy and makes the area popular with travellers who want the beach and the nightlife close at hand. Between the sea and the main roads the district is a mix of resorts, guesthouses and small shops, so the atmosphere changes between the beach, the walking street and the quieter side streets.

Chaweng Yai Beach is 900 m away, and it is the closest stretch of sand to the guesthouse. The Chaweng Walking Street is 200 m from the property, a pedestrian strip with bars and shops, and the Chaweng Night Market, 450 m away, is busy in the evening with food and goods stalls. Samui Airport is 2.8 km away, so flights arrive on the island itself, and the island's roads make a scooter or a car a practical way to reach places further afield.

For a day out, the Big Buddha, 5.3 km away, is a large seated Buddha statue on a hill above Bophut. Fisherman's Village in Bophut is a restored fishing village with shops, cafés and seafood restaurants. Na Muang Waterfall is inland, in the island's hills, and it makes a pleasant change from the beaches.
