Kamthieng House, a museum of traditional northern Thai houses and culture, and The Siam Society, a cultural institution with exhibitions on Thai art and history, are close by as well.

A day could start at Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok's best-known markets, open only at weekends and 7.7 km from the hotel. The Grand Palace, 8 km away, and Wat Arun on the Chao Phraya river are usually visited as a separate outing, and the river piers nearby make the crossing from the hotel's side of the city easier to plan.
