Koh Phangan Public Park offers a green break in town, and the Phangan Elephant Sanctuary is also on the island, so a visit there makes a good change from the beach. Visitors who want a full day out can combine the sanctuary with a stop at the park in town. Samui Airport, 19.5 km away on the neighbouring Ko Samui, is the nearest airport, with a ferry crossing to Ko Pha-ngan.
