Maleewana Hotel & Resort has several room types, from Deluxe rooms and Executive Suites to Family Suites and Master Suites. The Deluxe Room, Master Suite and Executive Suite all have a city view, and the Master Suite and Executive Suite bathrooms come with a whirlpool bathtub.

Maleewana sits in Thonburi, the district on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River, in an area of village lanes, pagodas and churches with a different feel from the old city's tourist streets. Thonburi is the western side of the river, so the Grand Palace and the old city are reached by crossing the water, and the hotel is set well back from that riverside centre.

Wat Yang Pa, a pagoda 950 m away, and the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 1.3 km away, are the closest sights. Taling Chan Junction train station is 2.3 km away, and Taling Chan Pier, 3.6 km away, is a ferry terminal on the Chao Phraya River. Wat Arun, the riverside temple on the Thonburi bank, is also close by, while the Grand Palace is 7.8 km away on the other side of the water. Both are among the best-known sights in Bangkok.

A day could begin at Wat Yang Pa and the village streets, then cross to the old city to see the Grand Palace and Wat Arun. Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the best-known markets in Bangkok, is a longer trip across the city and is better kept for a separate outing.
