The Skytrain is the quickest link to the rest of the city.

Bangkok's best-known sights are a few kilometres away. The Grand Palace, 4.5 km from the hotel, is the royal complex that holds the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and Wat Phra Chetuphon, with its large reclining Buddha, is close by. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, sits on the far bank of the Chao Phraya river. Jim Thompson House, a museum of Thai silk and art in traditional teak houses, is a quieter stop, and Siam Paragon, 2.5 km away, is one of the large shopping malls on the Siam side of the city.

A day could begin at the Grand Palace, then continue to Wat Arun across the river and end at Asiatique The Riverfront, a riverside shopping and dining complex. Suvarnabhumi Airport, 24.6 km away, is one of the two airports serving the city. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is further out and is best left for a separate trip.
