The Ratchadaphisek MRT Station, 850 m away, is on the same line, so the metro is the quickest way to reach the central stations from here. Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok's largest markets, is 2.7 km away, with clothing, crafts and food stalls across a big site that needs most of a morning. The Jim Thompson House, a teak-built museum of Thai silk and art, is 6.7 km away.

A full day could start at the Chatuchak Weekend Market, best visited on a weekend, and end with the evening at Asiatique - The Riverfront, a shopping and dining area on the Chao Phraya river. The Grand Palace, 9.9 km away, is the main sight of the old city, and Wat Arun, on the Chao Phraya river, makes a good stop on the same trip.
