Big Buddha, a white statue on a hilltop 5.6 km away, gives views across the island, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), 8.1 km away, is one of the best-known Buddhist temples on Phuket. The pier at Rawai is a ferry terminal for trips to nearby islands, and the Rawai fish market is a local place to see fresh fish.

Getting around usually means a car, scooter or taxi, as the sights are spread across the island, and Phuket International Airport is 37.1 km away. A good day could start with time on Nai Harn Beach, continue to the Big Buddha for the view, and finish with a stroll through the Rawai fish market and along the pier.
