A good day could start with a walk through Phutthamonthon park, followed by a visit to Wat Salawan and an afternoon at the Sala Ya Market. After dark the residential streets are quiet, and the market is where most of the everyday activity takes place. The area is best explored on foot or by local transport, with the railway station and the market close enough to make a simple day of it.
