Lanta Darawadee is in the Baan Klong Khong area of Koh Lanta, a long island in Krabi province on Thailand's Andaman coast. The hotel sits 20 m from the beach, with Khlong Khong Beach as the nearest stretch of sand and the small village of Haad Khlong Khong close by. Its garden and outdoor swimming pool mean that a stay can be spent largely on site, with the sea a short walk away.

Lung Phon Beach is 1.3 km away, and Khao Mai Kaew Cave, a limestone cave, lies 6.2 km off. Lanta Old Town, 8.3 km away, is the island's old town area, while Mu Ko Lanta National Park, 13.7 km from the hotel, protects the island's forest and coast. Khlong Chak Waterfall is also on the island, and the park and the falls make good trips for a day out.

Koh Lanta is reached by boat from the mainland, so the last leg of the journey is by ferry, and both Krabi International Airport and Trang Airport are on the mainland. Once on the island, the hotel offers an airport transfer and a shuttle service, and tours are offered for trips further afield. A day can combine a swim at the beach with a walk through the old town.
