La Locanda

Every room at La Locanda has air conditioning, and every room has a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries. The rooms run from a single room with a bunk bed to a 200 m² apartment that sleeps up to nine guests, and include studios, queen and king rooms and a deluxe double room.

Some rooms have a balcony or terrace, and some have a microwave and a refrigerator. The Apartment has a private entrance and a flat-screen TV, and bed set-ups range from a single bunk bed to three queen beds in one room, so there is a layout for solo travellers, couples and small groups alike.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and the hotel has a restaurant and a coffee shop. Shuttle service, car hire, tours and ticket services are offered, along with luggage storage and lockers. Air conditioning is also provided in the public areas, and Wi-Fi can be used in the public areas as well.

Daily housekeeping and laundry service are offered, together with private check-in and check-out and family rooms. The property also has a salon, a convenience store and shops, and parking is paid. English, Italian, Spanish and Thai are spoken, and pets are allowed. Guests who arrive by car can use the paid parking at the property, and the hotel's public areas are air-conditioned as well.

Soi Phantha Chit 2 runs through Pom Prap, the part of Bangkok's Chinatown where narrow lanes, shophouses and food stalls sit close to the main streets. It is a busy, dense area, with the everyday life of the old quarter spilling onto the pavements. The streets around the hotel mix Chinese and Thai shops, and the stalls keep the district busy into the evening.

Hua Lamphong Railway Station, 400 m away, connects the city to long-distance trains across the country. Yaowarat Road, the main street of Chinatown, is nearby, and the Yaowarat Chinatown Heritage Center covers the history of the district. Wat Arun, on the Chao Phraya river, is 2.8 km away, and the river is a short distance from the same streets, so a visit to the waterfront temples fits easily into a day spent in Chinatown and the old quarter.

A good day could start with the Grand Palace, 2.6 km away, and the temples around it, then continue across the river to Wat Arun. In the evening, Yaowarat Road is known for its street food, and Jim Thompson House, a teak house museum, is 1.7 km away, so it can be added to the same day without much planning.
