These are simple places to add to a morning or an afternoon without going far from the hotel.

For a livelier day out, Patong Beach is 20.5 km away, with Bangla Road and the Jungceylon Shopping Center close by. Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha on the hills make a good temple day. A car or taxi is the easiest way to reach them, as the island's main roads link the coast to the resort areas. Staying in this part of the island means the sea, the national park and the quieter lanes are close at hand, while the busier resort areas are a drive away for an evening out.
