Koh Tao Central Hostel

The rooms at Koh Tao Central Hostel mostly sleep up to three guests. The two 48 m² rooms, the Park Suite and the Mayfair, each have an ocean view and five bunk beds, and the Mayfair also has a balcony or terrace and a private entrance.

Whoever stays in any of the rooms shares the hostel's common areas: a bar, a games room with billiards, table tennis and foosball, a shared lounge with a TV, and shops within the premises.

Food and drink at the hostel come from a restaurant, a bar and a coffee shop, and breakfast is free and Asian in style. Cocktails, beer and snacks are served at the bar. Free WiFi is available in all rooms, and there is internet access in the public areas as well.

The hostel offers diving, snorkelling, canoeing and fishing, along with watersport equipment rentals, tours, and both motorised and non-motorised water sports. Billiards and a game room give guests indoor entertainment, and the shared lounge with its TV is a place to spend the evening.

Bicycle rental, a taxi service, luggage storage and daily housekeeping are also available, and a convenience store, shops and cash withdrawal are on site.

Mae Haad is the ferry village on Ko Tao, a small island in the Gulf of Thailand, and the pier is where boats from the mainland and Ko Samui arrive. The streets around the pier are busy with dive shops, bars and massage shops, so the area has a lively feel, and the pier is the natural starting point for any day out on the water.

The hostel is 200 m from the ferry pier, and Sairee Beach, one of the island's main stretches of sand, is 650 m away. Koh Nang Yuan, a small islet known for its viewpoint, lies 3.8 km away, and the Koh Tao Turtle Monument is close by.

Samui Airport, on the neighbouring island of Ko Samui, is the nearest airport at 65.1 km, and the crossing to Ko Tao is made by boat. Once on the island, diving, snorkelling and canoeing are the natural pursuits, and a boat trip to Koh Nang Yuan is one of the classic outings from Mae Haad. Bicycle rental is also offered, and the pier, the beach and the dive shops of the village are all close to one another, while Sairee Beach, at 650 m, is the longer stretch of sand to walk along.
