Ban Tai is a village on Ko Pha-ngan, an island in the Gulf of Thailand that belongs to Surat Thani province. The surroundings are village houses, small temples and stretches of coast, and the property suits a stay built around the sea and the pool rather than a busy town.

Wat Khao Tham, a Buddhist pagoda 600 m away, is one of the closest temples, and Haad Baan Tai beach lies 1.1 km away on the shoreline of the village. Haad Baan Kai is another beach further along the coast, and a night market is also in the area for an evening walk. Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach is 8.9 km away on the island's coast.

Ko Pha-ngan is reached from Ko Samui by boat, and Samui Airport (USM) is 17.9 km from the property on the neighbouring island, so the last part of the trip is by sea. For a day out, the beach at Ban Tai and the pagoda make an easy start, while a longer trip can take in the island's other beaches with the village as a base. The outdoor pool and the poolside bar give a place to rest between the two, and the island's other beaches are a reasonable day trip from the village.
