Koh Jum Hostel

Air conditioning is in every room at Koh Jum Hostel. The rooms are bungalows, superior rooms and a mixed dormitory room, and several of them have garden or mountain views. Most rooms have a private bathroom with a shower, toiletries and towels, and the dormitory room has a shared bathroom.

Some rooms have a flat-screen TV with satellite and cable channels, and the superior family and quadruple rooms come with a choice of bed set-ups. Free WiFi is available in all rooms, so guests can stay connected from their room, several rooms have a private entrance, and several rooms have an electric kettle.

Koh Jum Hostel stands on Koh Jum, a quiet island of small villages and beaches in the Andaman Sea off the coast of Krabi province. Krabi's coast is known for its limestone cliffs and clear water, and the islands around it are reached by boat rather than by bridge. The pace of life on Koh Jum stays unhurried, with the sea and the villages close at hand.

The nearest beach is Yao Beach, 1.5 km away, and Ao Si Beach, a little further on, is 1.7 km away. The Koh Jum pier, where the boats come in, is 1.9 km from the hostel, and a Buddhist temple stands 2.3 km away. Sunset Beach and Lu Boa Beach are further out, and Khao Ko Pu, a peak, is 4.7 km away. The island's villages show everyday island life between the beaches and the temple.

A day could start with a swim at Yao Beach, followed by a walk to the Buddhist temple and a visit to the pier when the boats arrive. In the afternoon, Sunset Beach offers another stretch of sand, and the garden and the terrace at the hostel are good places to rest between outings. Boat connections can be disrupted when the sea is rough, so allow time for the crossing.
