A simple day here starts on the sand at Karon or Kata and ends at one of the evening markets, such as the Kata Walking Street Night Market. The Big Buddha and Wat Chalong make a good half-day trip by car, as Phuket is joined to the mainland by a bridge and the airport is reached by road. Kata Noi Beach, next to Kata, is also good for a swim, and the Big Buddha adds a quieter outing to the day.
