Most rooms at Kiriraya Resort have air conditioning and a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries, and several look out over the mountains. Depending on the room, you can also find a flat-screen TV, a balcony or terrace, a refrigerator, a microwave or a coffee and tea maker. Rooms sleep up to three guests, and the cottage sleeps two.

Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi province, with limestone cliffs rising behind the bay and a busy stretch of sand lined with small hotels and street-food stalls. Kiriraya Resort is in the Ao Nang area, with Ao Nang Beach 900 m away and the Ao Nang Beach Pier, where island boats leave, close by.

Boats from the Ao Nang pier are the usual way to reach the islands and the beaches beyond the bay. Railay Beach, 1.9 km away, can only be reached by boat, and Phra Nang Cave lies close to it, while Poda Island is a boat trip away with its own beach. Tup Island and Poda Island are reached the same way, by boat, and the Hong Islands are further out. Krabi International Airport is 17.9 km away, and the Tiger Cave Temple, a hillside temple complex, is 14.4 km away.

A good day could start with a boat trip to Railay or Poda Island and end at the Ao-Nang Landmark Night Market, 2.7 km away. Between trips, the resort garden is an easy place to rest before the evening. In the rainy months, sea conditions can stop boats to the islands, so an island day may need a backup plan.
