The Grand Palace is 1.4 km away, and Wat Phra Kaew, the temple of the Emerald Buddha, lies inside the same complex. Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall porcelain-covered prang, is 2.1 km away across the water. Close by are the Bangkok National Museum and Santichaiprakan Park, which runs along the river. The historic quarter around the palace is dense with temples, so a morning there is easy to fill with visits to several of them.

A good day can start with a walk to the Grand Palace, then a river boat across to Wat Arun, and an evening on Khaosan Road, which is 500 m from the hotel. Phra Arthit Pier is next to the hotel, so river boats are easy to reach. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is 7.2 km away, with thousands of stalls on weekends.
