The International Tsunami Museum, 1.9 km from the villa, covers the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, which struck this coast hard. Further inland, Ton Chong Fa Waterfall and the Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, 6.6 km away, offer forest trails and waterfalls.

Getting around is easiest by car or scooter, since the beaches and the national park are spread along the coast road and inland. A day could start with a walk on Khuk Khak Beach, continue to the Tsunami Museum and end at the afternoon market in Bang Niang. Phuket International Airport, 64 km away, is the nearest airport for the coast. The Tsunami Museum is a useful first stop for understanding the recent history of this coast before exploring the beaches and forests.
