The International Tsunami Museum, 2.2 km away, tells the story of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, and Bang Niang Market, an afternoon market, is close by. The Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park lies in the hills behind the coast, and Ton Chong Fa Waterfall, a five-level waterfall 3.6 km away, is one of the sights in those hills. A day could start with the tsunami museum and the afternoon market, then move to the waterfall.
