Across the river, the Grand Palace is 1.7 km away, and Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, stands on the Thonburi bank, 1.8 km from the hotel. Khaosan Road, the well-known backpacker street, lies on the other side of the river, and a hospital, a convenience store and an ATM are all nearby.

A good day could start at Wat Arun, then cross by ferry to the Grand Palace area and spend the afternoon in the old city, with its temples and museums. The Jim Thompson House museum is a little further into the centre. Back in Thonburi, the hotel's garden, with its badminton court and gazebo, is an easy place to finish the day.
