Kataonsea Bungalows

Kataonsea Bungalows has studios, bungalows and connecting bungalows. Some rooms overlook the pool, others have a city, mountain or bay view, and a few have a balcony or terrace.

Rooms can have air conditioning, blackout curtains, a refrigerator and free bottled water, along with a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and toiletries. The connecting bungalows sleep up to six guests, and the pool-access version sleeps up to four. Several rooms have a private bathroom and a walk-in shower, and some have a pool view, a city view or a bay view.

The grounds have an outdoor swimming pool, a children's swimming pool, a garden and a terrace. Free parking is available on site, with bicycle parking as well, and a shuttle service is offered.

Kata is a beach area on Phuket's Andaman coast, with a broad sandy bay and small shops, cafés and bars along the roads behind it. Kata Beach is a short walk from the hotel, and the roads nearby have a mix of hotels, bungalows and small restaurants.

Karon Beach is 400 m away, and the Kata Walking Street Night Market is 350 m away, with evening stalls along the walking street. Further afield, the Big Buddha sits on the hills 1.7 km away, and Chaithararam Temple, also known as Wat Chalong, is 4.8 km away, one of the island's best-known Buddhist temples. Phuket International Airport is 31.6 km away, and taxis and car hire are the easiest way to reach the sights across the island.

A good day could start with a swim at Karon Beach, then a visit to the Big Buddha for views over the hills, and an evening at the Kata Walking Street Night Market. Phuket is large enough that the sights are spread out, so a car or taxi makes the day easier, and the temple and the hilltop statue are both among the island's best-known sights. Patong, a short drive away, has the island's best-known nightlife on Bangla Road.
