Kamonthara sits on Nawang Road in the town itself, so the everyday life of its streets, with shops, temples and food stalls, is close at hand.

The best-known sight is Phra Pathom Chedi, the great golden stupa, about 1 km away and one of the tallest Buddhist monuments in the world. Its national museum covers the history of the area, and Sanam Chan Palace, a former royal residence set in gardens, is 700 m from the hotel. Nakhon Pathom Railway Station is 1.2 km away. The nearest airport, Don Mueang International Airport (60.7 km), is in the Bangkok area, and Suvarnabhumi is further out, so the airport trip is by road, and car hire and taxi services are available at the hotel.

A good day here starts at Phra Pathom Chedi and continues to its national museum, then a walk through the grounds of Sanam Chan Palace. In the evening, the Phra Pathom Chedi Night Market, near the stupa, offers local food and a lively street scene, while the municipal zoo makes a simple outing for an afternoon.
