Kamala is a beach area on Phuket's west coast, north of the busier resort town of Patong. Its long sandy beach is calmer than Patong's, and the pace of life is slower. It is a good choice for travellers who want the sea and a quieter evening, while Patong's nightlife is a drive away by road, along the coast road to the south.

The beach is 880 m from the villa, and the Kamala Night Market is 600 m away. Phuket FantaSea, the cultural theme park with its evening shows, is 800 m away. Bangla Road, Patong's nightlife street, is 6.4 km away, and Phuket International Airport, the nearest airport, is 18 km away. Cars and taxis are the usual way around Phuket, so a car or taxi makes the longer trips easier.

A good day could start on the sand at Kamala, with the afternoon spent by the sea, and end with the evening shows at Phuket FantaSea. For a different outing, Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is one of the best-known temples on Phuket, and the Big Buddha stands on a hill above Chalong. Karon Beach, further south along the coast, is a choice for a second beach day.
