The rooms at JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa range from garden-view and pool-view rooms to oceanfront suites and a two-bedroom villa. Several are on the ground floor with garden or pool access, and some have a balcony or a terrace.

The 187 m2 suite has a private pool, and the villa sleeps up to six guests. Rooms with a pool view look out over the resort's pool, and the garden-view rooms overlook the gardens. Several rooms have accessible features, including roll-in showers, transfer showers and visual alarms. Bed set-ups range from one king bed to two double beds, and the villa has a king bed in each of its two bedrooms.

Mai Khao is a long, relatively quiet stretch of sand in the north of Phuket, and Sai Kaew Beach lies 50 m from the hotel. Mai Khao Beach is nearby along the same stretch of sand. The setting feels more like a beach than a town, with the island's main resort areas further along the road.

The Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation, a sea-turtle conservation centre, is close to the hotel, and the Tha Chat Chai mangrove forest trail takes you through coastal mangroves. Splash Jungle Water Park is 5.6 km away, and Phuket International Airport, 6.2 km off, is the main gateway to the island, with an airport transfer offered by the hotel. Phuket FantaSea, a theme park with a dinner show, is further off.

Patong Beach, 28.7 km away, is the island's busy beach resort, with the nightlife of Bangla Road. Big Buddha Phuket, 37.7 km away, is a large Buddha statue on a hilltop. A day can combine a morning on Sai Kaew Beach, a visit to the turtle foundation, and an afternoon at the statue or in Patong. Patong is the busier choice for evenings out, while Mai Khao suits a quieter day by the sea, and both Patong and the statue are reached by road.
