The clock tower, 1.4 km away, is another easy town landmark to visit, and OK Batong, also 1.2 km away, is a local attraction. Free parking is available, so a car is the easiest way to reach the wider area.

A good day could begin with a walk to the mailbox and the market, followed by a drive out into the hills for views over the surrounding landscape. Betong's position near the Malaysian border gives the town a border-town character, and the rural villages and campsites in the hills beyond the town are a short drive for a change of scene.
