Kalim Beach is another stretch of sand next to Patong, while the larger sights sit further out: the Big Buddha on its hilltop above Chalong Bay, and Phuket FantaSea, a theme park and cultural show venue in Kamala. Phuket International Airport is 23.2 km away, and the bus and minibus stations are roughly 10 km from the area.

A good first day starts with a morning on Patong Beach, followed by an afternoon at the Jungceylon Shopping Center and an evening stroll along Bangla Road towards the night market. For a change of scene, Chaithararam Temple, also known as Wat Chalong, and the Big Buddha are worth a day out from Patong.
