Don Mueang International Airport is 5.6 km away and is the closer of the two airports, while Suvarnabhumi Airport is much further out. Lad Pla Khao Market and Ram Indra Sports Park are both close by, and the sports park offers open space for a walk.

A day out could start at the Grand Palace, 18.6 km away in the old city. From there, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is one of the largest markets in the city, with clothes, food and crafts, open at the weekend and well worth a day trip of its own. It is a large site, so a visit takes most of a day.
