Suan Phlu Market and the Khan Mind Marketplace are a few hundred metres away, and Chaloem Phrakiat 80 Phansa Park offers a green break in the middle of the district. Jim Thompson House, the former home of the American silk entrepreneur, is 3.4 km away, and Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall prang, is 6 km away.

A full day could start at the Grand Palace, 6.1 km away, and continue to Wat Arun on the river before dinner back in Sathorn. Siam Paragon makes an easy afternoon stop, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market, open on weekends, is worth the longer trip.
