HulaFling Homestay is in the Phuket Airport area, a quieter part of the island away from Patong's nightlife, with long sandy beaches and protected national parks nearby. The airport itself is close by, and the homestay offers an airport transfer. Patong and the other beach resorts on the island are a longer drive away, and Phuket Town, the capital, is further still, with old streets known for their Sino-Portuguese shophouses.

Nai Yang Beach is about 850 m away, and Wat Mongkonwaram, a Buddhist temple with a pagoda, is 300 m from the homestay. The Ni Yang night market is 350 m away, Sirinat National Park is 1 km off, and Maikhao Beach, 3.9 km away, is known for the aircraft that come in low over the sand.

For a day out, start at Nai Yang Beach, spend time in the national park, and finish at Maikhao Beach to watch the planes. Phuket FantaSea, the large entertainment complex, and the Soi Dog Foundation, a dog rescue charity, are further afield on the island. Wat Chalong, one of the island's most revered temples, and the Big Buddha, a large seated statue on a hilltop, are also on the island, further from the airport than the national park.
