The streets are small and local, with markets and temples close to the hotel, and the visitor sights of Rattanakosin lie on the other bank.

The Wongwian Yai BTS station is a short walk from the hotel, and its skytrain links to the Sathorn and Silom areas. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, is 1.9 km away and the Grand Palace is 2.6 km, while Khaosan Road, the backpacker street, is 3.7 km away. The King Taksin Monument is also a short walk away, honouring the king who made Thonburi his capital, and Wat Klang Market is in the neighbourhood.

A day could start at Wat Arun, on this side of the river, then cross to the Grand Palace in the old city and finish at Asiatique The Riverfront, a riverside shopping and dining complex. Khaosan Road is lively after dark, and Chatuchak Weekend Market lies much further north, so it works best as a separate outing.
