The Big Buddha on Nakkerd Hills, near Wat Chalong, is another landmark worth a visit, and Patong Beach, the island's best-known beach area, is further away. Phuket International Airport (HKT) is 27.8 km away. A day can start in the shophouse streets of the old town, continue to Wat Chalong, and end at a night market.
