Hatyai Dee Hostel

Accommodation at Hatyai Dee Hostel is a mix of dormitory beds and private rooms, from single bunk beds in eight-bed dormitories to a Superior King Room with a queen bed and bunk beds. Most rooms have air conditioning, and most also look out over the city. Bathrooms are shared, with showers.

Dormitory rooms are male-only, female-only or mixed. The Superior King Room, at 23 m², sleeps up to eight guests, and the Private Room also sleeps up to eight, with a choice of bed set-ups. The Mixed Dormitory Room measures 14 m² and sleeps two, and the Superior King Room also has a seating area and a desk.

The hostel has a garden and a terrace, along with a shared lounge and TV area, and air conditioning in the public areas. Free WiFi is available in all rooms, and WiFi is also offered in public areas.

Guests can leave bags in luggage storage and use lockers, and daily housekeeping is provided. A convenience store is on hand, a doctor or nurse is on call, and tours can be arranged. Car hire is available, and there is a taxi service.

For meals, the hostel has a coffee shop, a halal restaurant, restaurants and vending machines, and a continental breakfast is offered. Free parking nearby is available, bicycle parking is provided, and an airport transfer is offered, with a shuttle service too.

Hat Yai is a busy commercial city in Songkhla province in southern Thailand, and the hostel stands in the central district on Nipatuthit 1 Road, surrounded by shops, markets and busy streets. It makes a practical base for an urban stay rather than a beach holiday, since the shops, markets and transport links are all close at hand. Convenience stores, a hospital and the Robinson Department Store are close by, so everyday errands are easy to fit into a day.

The railway station is close enough to reach on foot, while the bus station is a little further out. Kim Yong Market is 650 m away and Santisuk Market 400 m, both lively markets in the centre. Wat Hat Yai Nai, a Buddhist temple, is 1.7 km away, and Hat Yai International Airport is 11.2 km away, the nearest airport to the hostel.

A full day could start with a walk through Kim Yong Market and Santisuk Market, then continue to Hat Yai Municipal Park for a break in the green before a visit to the Magic Eye 3D Museum, which shows 3D artworks. In the evening, the Asean Night Bazaar Hatyai offers food and shopping, and it makes a good end to a day in the city.
