Hathai House

The rooms at Hathai House measure between 24 and 65 m² and sleep from two to four guests. Several have a mountain view, one has a pool view, and every room has free wireless internet access. Satellite or cable channels are available in most rooms, with on-demand movies in several of them.

Beds vary from a single king bed to two king beds, and some rooms have a sofa bed or bunk beds. One 65 m² room has a separate living room, and several rooms have a private bathroom with a shower. Air conditioning and a refrigerator are available in some rooms, and flat-screen TVs in several others.

Hathai House has an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor swimming pool, along with a terrace and an elevator. Daily housekeeping, room service and laundry service are offered, and guests can use a kitchen.

For getting around the island, the hotel offers an airport transfer, a shuttle service, car hire, bicycle rental and tours, and concierge and ticket services are also available. Luggage storage, safety deposit boxes and currency exchange are offered, and express check-in and check-out are also possible.

Staff speak English, Thai, Burmese and Lao, and the business centre has Xerox and fax. There are facilities for disabled guests, free parking on site, and parking nearby, and Asian and continental breakfast are offered as well.

Lamai is a beach area on Koh Samui, one of Thailand's best-known islands, and Hathai House sits a few hundred metres back from the sand. In the evening the streets fill with food stalls around the Lamai Night Market, and both the beach and the market are a short walk from the hotel. The area has a relaxed feel, with small shops and simple places to eat along the main roads.

Hin Ta and Hin Yai, the rock formations known locally as Grandma and Grandpa Rocks, lie 1.3 km away on the coast, and Wat Lamai, a temple, is close by. Na Muang Waterfall is 5.7 km away, and the Big Buddha, a large statue further along the island, is 12.1 km from the hotel. Samui Airport, the island's own airport, is 9.7 km away by road, so the trip from the airport does not need a boat.

A good day could start on Lamai Beach, continue to the rock formations, and end at the night market. The waterfall and the Big Buddha are longer trips, and the hotel offers car hire for them, while bicycle rental is also offered for shorter rides along the coast. Tours can be arranged through the hotel for trips further afield.
