Happy Hope

Happy Hope offers mixed dormitory beds, bunk beds in several rooms, a semi double bed in another mixed dormitory room, and a tent with a queen bed. Several rooms measure 18 m², and air conditioning is part of the rooms throughout the property.

Bathroom facilities in some rooms are shared, with a shower and toiletries. Some rooms also have blackout curtains, a fan, a reading light, a balcony or terrace, or a city view, depending on the room you are given.

Happy Hope has a bar, a shared lounge and TV area, a concierge and a 24-hour front desk, with room service and a convenience store on site. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

Laundry service, luggage storage and daily housekeeping are available, and there is a laundromat nearby. Tours can be arranged, and car hire and taxi service are offered, along with lockers for guests who want to keep belongings secure.

The property also has a game room with a dart board, a happy hour at the bar, and meeting and banquet facilities for events. Alcohol, bottled water and coffee are sold from the food and drink facilities, and fruit, snacks and grocery delivery are also available.

Happy Hope sits on Soi Samsen 6 in Banglamphu, the old-town neighbourhood by the Chao Phraya river where the backpacker street of Khaosan Road has its guesthouses, bars and street-food stalls. The side lanes around it have small shops, a few tailors and fashion shops, and a dental clinic and ATM close by, so the area mixes travellers with everyday Bangkok life.

Khaosan Road is 650 m away, and the old royal complex is a short trip further: the Grand Palace is 1.9 km away and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) is 1.7 km away. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, is 2.6 km away across the river, and the Phra Arthit ferry pier is 750 m away for river crossings. Sam Yot MRT station is also nearby, and Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest markets in the city, is a longer trip out.

A good day here starts with the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, continues with Wat Arun across the river, and ends with an evening on Khaosan Road or along the riverside. Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi are the nearest airports, and Sam Yot MRT station is the closest metro stop for getting around the city centre on a day of sightseeing.
