Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre with an aquarium, is 3.3 km away, and Jim Thompson House, a museum of traditional Thai teak houses, is 3.9 km away.

A day could start at the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, close together in the old town and reached by taxi or river boat, and continue with Wat Arun across the river. In the afternoon, Jim Thompson House or the shopping centres of Siam offer a different pace, and Lumphini's green space makes a pleasant break before the evening.
