Erawan Shrine, a Brahma shrine at the Ratchaprasong junction, stands nearby and attracts many devotees, and the Jim Thompson House, the former home of the American silk entrepreneur, is 1.6 km away. Further out, the Grand Palace is 5.4 km away, and Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the city's largest markets, is 6.5 km away.

A good day could begin at the Jim Thompson House and continue to the Erawan Shrine, before a massage at the hotel's spa or a swim in its outdoor pool in the afternoon. On a weekend, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is worth the longer trip across town. The Grand Palace and the temples of the old city are a longer journey, so it makes sense to plan them for a separate day. The old city, with the Grand Palace, is best kept as a separate outing from the Siam area.
