The surroundings are shaped by Siriraj Hospital, one of Thailand's oldest hospitals, and by the riverside lanes and temples that line the bank.

Siriraj Hospital and the Wang Lang Pier are both 150 m from the apartment, and the pier is a ferry stop where boats cross the river to the old city. Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan, a riverside temple, is also nearby. The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew are 900 m away across the river, Wat Arun is 1.4 km away and Khaosan Road is 1.3 km away, and the Thonburi train station is a short walk.

A good day could begin with a walk to Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan, then a boat across to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, the most visited sights of the old city. In the afternoon, Khaosan Road offers street food and a lively evening stroll, and Wat Arun can be visited on the way back along the river. The old city is a short boat ride away, and the temples and museums of the area make a varied day out.
