Bangla Road, the best-known nightlife street in Patong, is 1.1 km away, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), 6.3 km away, is one of the island's best-known Buddhist temples.

A day could start on Patong Beach, continue with the Big Buddha on its hillside 6.7 km away, and end with an evening walk along Bangla Road. Because Phuket is linked to the mainland by road, a taxi or hired vehicle is the easiest way to reach the temples and the Big Buddha from Patong. Patong's energy is strongest after dark, so mornings on the beach and afternoons at the temples offer a different pace.
