Wat Sukhantharam, a pagoda temple in the neighbourhood, and the Jim Thompson House, a museum in a traditional house of the silk entrepreneur, round out the local sights. The Sam Sen train station is nearby, and parking is available on site for guests who drive. Don Mueang, the nearest airport, is 18 km away, and Suvarnabhumi is 26.3 km away.

Dusit is a good starting point for the royal sights, and the Chatuchak market draws shoppers from across the city. A day could start at Vimanmek Mansion, continue to the Marble Temple, and end at Chatuchak Weekend Market, 4.1 km away, one of the largest weekend markets in Bangkok, with its clothing, crafts and food stalls. The Grand Palace and Wat Arun, both on the Chao Phraya river, are also worth a visit.
