Friend Camp is in Khao Kho town, and the surroundings are rural and hilly, with villages, farmland and wind turbines along the ridges.

The village of Ban Pa Ya Di is the nearest, 950 m away. Sridit, a waterfall in the hills around Khao Kho, is 2.8 km away, and the Itthi Artillery Support Base Museum is 3.3 km away, while the Khao Kho Wind Farm sits on the ridge 7.1 km away. The Monument & Machine Gun Posts attraction and the Khao Kho Sacrifice Monument are also close by, and so is the Viewpoint & Parking lookout.

A day could start at the viewpoint, continue to the Khao Kho Wind Farm on the ridge, and finish in the hot tub back at the property. A car makes it easier to reach the farther sights, since they are spread across the hills around Khao Kho.
